Heerema Marine Contractors (HMC) announced the signing of a letter of intent with Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering Co., Ltd., Korea (DSME), for the building of a new Deep Water Construction Vessel. This morning in Krimpen a/d IJssel, the Netherlands, Ann Clarkson - wife of BP’s Senior Vice President E&P Projects Execution David Clarkson - successfully named the Seven Pacific, built by IHC Merwede Offshore & Marine for repeat customer Subsea 7, followed by its launch. The multi purpose offshore construction vessel is scheduled for delivery in the fourth quarter of this year. (more…)

Early Thursday morning 12 November, the drill tower for the first Shell/Frontier Drilling Bully drill ship was shipped from the Huisman quay in Schiedam to the Keppel Shipyard in Singapore, where it is expected to arrive mid December. Delivery of the equipment is in line with the delivery schedule of the new build Bully 1 vessel at Keppel Shipyard. (more…)
