Schottel eases propeller configuration work by means of its online HydrA design software.  A customer can specify the propulsion system, number of propulsion units, input speed, input power, blade area ratio, propeller diameter, ship speed, wake fraction and thrust deduction fraction. Schottel has inaugurated a new spare parts warehouse at its headquarters in Koblenz / Spay, which is responsible for procurement and global distribution of spare parts for its azimuthing propulsion systems. Rapid provision of spare parts reduces downtime and is therefore vitally important for every shipowner and ship operator. (more…)
